Product Overview:
SIXNET is a privately-held manufacturer of leading-edge
data acquisition and industrial control products. We are internally
financed with no long-term debt. 100% of the company's stock is owned by
employees of the company. SIXNET is a Total Quality company whose
management leads by example, sharing their vision and fostering teamwork
and the principles of Continuous Process Improvement.
The name SIXNET comes from
our early days in the distributed I/O network for Texas Instruments PLCs.
We networked TI 6MT I/O, hence SIXNET. We are the Digitronics
Inventioneering Corporation. (Our origins are as a creative engineering
company.) For a long time we were known as "Digitronics SIXNET".
Now, we have simplified our name to just SIXNET.
About Sixnet:
Digitronics was founded in 1975 to create one of the
first microprocessor based real-time instruments to perform complex
floating point calculations. By 1980, over 80% of all computer-based
controls in the North American leather finishing industry were designed
and manufactured by Digitronics.
In 1981, Digitronics Inventioneering was incorporated to
manufacture leading-edge industrial control products. At this early date,
we recognized the need for an open architecture, universal I/O system. The
first SIXNET products were delivered in 1982 to create distributed I/O for
TI PLCs. Within three years, we had created the 6-IBM/N network
co-processor for personal computers as the era of personal computers on
the Plant Floor was born. In 1986, the first SIXNET IOMUX was installed.
After years of improvement it remains the World's most capable Remote
Terminal Unit. In 1992, the Versamux was added to the SIXNET RTU line,
bringing large system performance to a low cost RTU. In 1993, starting
with customer wish lists and our vast experience in the industry, we began
a concurrent engineering process to create the perfect I/O system. Every
aspect of system design was considered simultaneously by the
multi-disciplinary design team. The result is SIXTRAK, an achievement that
speaks for itself.
SIXNET is continuing to develop SIXTRAK products to fill the growing need
for computer-based industrial control. We are also planning to integrate
SIXTRAK technology into future SIXNET RTUs, bringing even more power to
the world's most advanced remote site monitors.
