Cartridge DDR

Direct Drive Rotary Servomotors
 
Danaher Motion introduced Kollmorgen Cartridge DDR direct drive rotary servomotors, which according to the company, represent a new category of technology combining the performance advantages of frameless direct drive motors with the ease of installation of full frame motors. The motors feature pre-engineered components, an integrated, factory-aligned high resolution feedback device and a bearing-less design that facilitates mount and run operation in under 30 minutes. Cartridge DDR motors also feature an advanced electromagnetic design providing up to 50 percent more torque density than comparably sized conventional servomotors. Cartridge DDR motors eliminate all mechanical transmission parts resulting in simplified installation, increase accuracy, quieter and maintenance-free operation, and low life cycle cost.
